Glory Edim, Well-Read Black Girl: Finding Our Stories, Discovering Ourselves

I value having the ability to open my eyes and expand my thought processes beyond my own worldview and social conditioning. Reading helps me do just that. To be a Well-Read Black Girl is most certainly a goal of mine. Reading reminds me that the only limits I face are the ones I set for and accept myself. What I have come to treasure the most through my recent reading journey is my ability to see myself in the writings of others, and the calling to write so others can be inspired to live abundantly and see themselves in the words from my heart. The books below are those that have affirmed me, helped challenge and expand my perspective of living and loving, and allowed me to venture to worlds of imagination and wonder. Please be patient with me, as the reviews have not yet been linked and/or pending… I recently committed to the practice of reviewing books (as I know, this is important for authors), so this process may take this reformed perfectionist a bit of time to complete. Nevertheless, the list is here for the sake of accountability/motivation. Anticipate the list of books to grow. Enjoy the journey & thank you for riding with me!
