Ear Candy for the Moment: The King’s Affirmation ~ Iniko
Hey there, Hi there, Hello there! I’m so happy to be back putting a few words together and planting them in this virtual space called the internet! For those of you who aren’t aware (which will be the majority of folks reading this), I began blogging in 2023 on a personal website entitled “Shenanigans, Snacks & Naps.” It was my introduction to the life of blogging, but eventually life was lifing in major ways, and my love for writing became buried in what I felt was the abyss of despair. However, what I didn’t know was that I was being planted, and my love for writing and sharing my unique perspectives was not lost but being nurtured to bring forth a more focused, purposeful, and hopefully still goofy ol’ me!
Though I no longer have access to my finalized website content, my drafts are still with me. After re-reading them and debating whether I should republish to this new location, I realized it was the first time I didn’t cringe at the former version of myself. Yes, the 2023 version of me is still beautifully complex, but not an updated me. After careful consideration (and just not wanting to do the extra work of investigating how to recover lost content), I decided I would not include the older posts as archives on this new site. I found solace in knowing that I could build upon the material in more insightful ways. The decision to include my drafts may change later, but as of now, I’m at peace with letting them rest. Therefore, a reintroduction is in order. So, if you haven’t read about who I am or what this site is about, now will be a good time to do so.
The only thing that’ll be different about this go around is me not having unrealistic expectations of myself. My writing and sharing will come from the heart and willingness to serve in ways that are unique to me and not of obligation to perform and produce for acceptance and approval. Whew… I wish you knew how freeing it was for me to put those words together and not feel a bit of shame, but that’s what this journey called life is all about for me at this point—to be the most liberated version of myself. Welcome, and I hope you enjoy the ride!
